300 years of sieve manufacture

Sieve manufacture Sieve manufacture has a long tradition at Linker Industrie-Technik (LIT): the Linker family has been involved in the manufacture of sieves for over 280 years.

The first official mention of the name goes back to the year 1722, when one Johann David Lüncker was mentioned as a sieve-maker in Neustadt (Marburg district).
He was followed by Johann Henricius Lüncker (1761), Johann Linker (1788), Johann Heinrich Linker (1837) and Josef Linker, who moved the business to Kassel in 1875.
His sons took over the management in 1908: Paul Linker was responsible for the wire mesh business, which had in the meantime extended, while Julius Linker handled the sieve production.
Their sons joined the company in the year 1932, taking over the management of Linker KG following the end of the war, and the almost complete destruction of the company: Hans Linker managed Department I (sieves and laboratory requirements), Wilhelm Linker Department II (fences, doors, gates). After the departure of Wilhelm Linker, the sons of Hans Linker - Dr. Wolfgang J. Linker and Dipl.-Ing. Eberhard Linker – joined the company in 1977.
The two departments became independent companies in 1987; Wolfgang Linker left the management of the company. The former Department II today trades under the direction of Eberhard Linker as "Tor- und Zaunsysteme Linker GmbH".

The former Department I became Linker Industrie-Technik GmbH, with its Managing Director Günther Graak, who in the year 2000 celebrated his 50th anniversary with the company. In 1990, LIT moved into the Bunsenstraße 200 in Kassel.

The main shareholder of LIT today is Dr. Wolfgang J. Linker; the company is managed by Frank Kottig and Graduate Business Manager Claudia Linker.

In 2008 Frank Kottig took over the sole direction of Linker Industrie-Technik GmbH as the only shareholder.
Family tree of the Linker family

Did you know?

Some of the most famous old houses around the Kassel Old Market, which were completely destroyed on 22.10.1943 together with the whole historic Old Town, belonged to the Linker family.

Besides other sights of Kassel, two of these houses could for many years be discovered in stylised form on an official, but rather rare "printed work" of the Federal Republic of Germany. Now to our question: Do you know where that was?Answer!
